Lacy Bird

Welcome

I was tidying my desk not long before I went away and came across a card kit that Ginny Maxam had sent me some time ago, so I put my thinking cap on and came up with this card.

All the elements on the card, with the exception of the ribbon and rhinestones, came in the kit

Unfortunately the platinum embossing powder was difficult to see on the dark blue paper, and after heating I found that it was somewhat 'speckled'!!

The paper for the base had a rough edge that I wanted to keep, so I accented it by inking it (and the other edges) with Delicata Golden Glitz ink

I loved the lacy panel that was in the kit, and was pleased that it showed up so well over the dark paper.  The paper strip on the side had soft yellow shading on it, so I drew that out and brightened the card with some yellow organza ribbon over it.

I repeatedly painted the bird die cut with WoS and managed to capture some of the sparkle in this photo.  I finished the bird with a clear rhinestone eye.

This is pretty. I like the colours and patterns in the paper, the bird silhouette and the lacy die is perfect. It almost gives it an airy look... like the bird really is flying!

At first I thought the speckle was stray powder and then I thought it was part of the image so I should not worry about it. Looks nice like that.
Love the lace piece behind the bird and I do like the bird with its flourish.
Blessings, Neet xx
